Irans Revolution Anniversary Celebrated in Islamabad
The 45th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution of Iran was held in Islamabad by the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran
 The 45th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution of Iran was held in Islamabad by the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran  Iranian Ambassador Reza Amiri-Moghaddam welcomed the distinguished guests. At the beginning of the ceremony, the students at the Iranian School sang the national anthem.  Addressing the audience in the welcome speech, Iranian Ambassador Reza Amiri-Moghadam said, "Pakistan and Iran have a longstanding relationship, both the countries have similar positions on regional and global issues and support each other in various forums." He further added, "Both countries have taken important steps to increase trade, which was worth two and a half billion dollars last year. We believe that the volume of trade can be increased up to 5 billion dollars." He also mentioned that Iran has always pursued an independent foreign policy and will continue to support Palestine." During the event, the Foreign Minister of Pakistan Jalil Abbas Jilani shared his thoughts as a special guest caretaker. Jilani said, “It is an honor for me to participate in the celebration of the Iranian Revolution, the Iranian Revolution is a major event in the history of Iran. Pakistan and Iran have had brotherly relations for generations and we have close bilateral relations." He added, "Pakistan and Iran have to work together to secure regional peace and prosperity for the people of our countries." A large number of important political, social, and religious personalities participated in the event, while diplomats from other countries also were present in large numbers.   An exhibition of photographs and Iranian handicrafts was also organized during the event.
